The Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine offers post-residency fellowships to ensure trainees are exposed to the robust opportunities in the field of neurosurgery. The majority of the department fellowships can be enfolded within residency training after the completion of the chief year of residency; they are also offered as post-graduate training. The Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship is only offered post residency training in a match process.
Fellows at IU School of Medicine will participate in a high clinical volume of surgeries and procedures and conduct high-impact research while training for their careers in academic medicine. Fellows will also attend educational conferences, train in a cadaveric and microanastomosis laboratory and use state-of-the-art neurosurgical equipment. The work environment for neurological surgery fellows at IU School of Medicine is highly collegial with each participating fellow functioning as an attending surgeon. Numerous opportunities for academic growth and mentorship are available.
